Betty Charlene Hiatt

McCOOK, Neb. -- Betty Charlene Hiatt, age 73, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Betty was born on Oct. 3, 1942, in McCook to Paul H. and Mary F. (Dawson) Schneider. She graduated from McCook High School.

She married Gerald "Pudge" Sitzman in 1958. On Feb. 16, 1980, she married Leon "Red" Hiatt.

Betty was a past member of the McCook Eagles Club.

Betty worked at Dayco for many years; she also worked at the McCook Clinic and Total Turf.

She loved to travel and spend time visiting with her friends. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids sporting events.

Survivors include her sons, Gary (Barbara) Sitzman of Kearney and Ron (Darla) Sitzman of Grand Island; step-sons, Dennis (Karen) Hiatt of McCook, Don (Linda) Hiatt of Saginaw, Texas, Doug (Bobbi) Hiatt of McCook, and Ken (Peggy) Hiatt of Parker, Colo.; six grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers, Chuck, Paul and Raymond.

Graveside memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Clark Bates officiating.
