NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Kay Scripter, 73, of North Platte, passed away Nov. 11, 2012, at Omaha.

Kay was born Jan. 30, 1939, in McCook, Nebraska, to Tom and Anne (Dillon) Cotton.

She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School. She attended teacher's college, at the University of Northern Colorado.

Kay married Eldon "Chub" Mapes and later married Chuck Scripter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also enjoyed watching football.

She is survived by three sons, Brian (Jill) Mapes of Arvada, Colorado, Scott Mapes of Chankussen, Minnesota, and Mike (Jessica) Mapes of Thornton, Colorado; one brother, Tom (Ardis) Cotton of Deer Lodge, Montana, and four grandchildren, Monica, Brett, Aiden and Ella.

Kay was preceded by her parents, one brother, Bill and one sister, ReNea Sandry.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, with Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating.
