Gene Langfeldt - Class Of 1957

Gene F. Langfeldt Francis Eugene "Gene" Langfeldt, 77, of Loveland, formerly of Castle Rock and Denver, passed away on April 2, 2017. Gene was born July 6, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa to Dorothy Nagle and Ray Langfeldt. He attended school in McCook, Nebraska and then graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He served in the Army & Air Force National Guard. In 1970 Gene worked as Bank Examiner for the State of Nebraska. He moved to Colorado and from 1974-1986 he worked from Staff Accountant to Senior VP & CFO, Board of Directors and Stockholder of Genro Corp. First Trust Corp. & Hospitality Marketing Management and Board of Directors First Financial Management Corp. From 1986-1992 Gene worked from VP of Administration & Finance to Executive VP & General Manager of Turbo West. From 1994-1998 he was VP & General Manager of Elliott Aviation in Omaha Nebraska. From 1999 - 2003 Gene returned to Denver and was President of Mayo Aviation and from 2004-2012 President of Wetzel Aviation when he retired. Gene volunteered as Board Member of Saint Anthony Health Foundation, Chairman of Flight for Life Development Board and Board Member of Colorado Aviation Business Association (CABA). He was an avid skier, runner, hiker, and golfer. Gene was certified in sailing, a licensed pilot and Bronco football ticket holder for over 30 years. In 1984, Gene married CarolAnn (Nacelli). They had two children, Jessica Blythe (Langfeldt) Haverkate born March 21, 1985 and Jordan Nagle Langfeldt born March 22, 1987. On June 21, 2008, Gene married Patricia Beck of Lincoln, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife CarolAnn, and his daughter Jessica (Langfeldt) Haverkate. Gene leaves his loving wife, Patricia, son Jordan, son-in-law Mike Haverkate, brother, John (Ursula) Langfeldt, two sisters; Mari (Bill) Fink and Cathy Langfeldt (Mark Dankert) and many nieces & nephews.
