Hello to any who have come to this site and are curious as to where I am and what I'm doing.
After leaving McCook in 1969 I became VP and Eastern Booking Director of Community Concerts and headed the publicity department at Columbia Artists Management in NYC. In 1981 my partner, Ray Kolak, and I moved to our weekend house on Long Island where I became the men's clothing buyer for a 100 year old family owned 5 unit department store chain.
In 1994 I retired and we moved to a home on the Rio Grand on what was then the outskirts of Albuquerque, NM that we had purchased a few years earlier as an investment and future retirement home. We purchased a small apartment complex to provide a somewhat steady income stream and Ray has managed it along with work as a real estate agent.
Since retiring I've devoted a good deal of my time to supporting and advocating for the hard of hearing. For any concerned with living with hearing loss, get in touch with me and I'll try to help you address those concerns. Visit www.hearingloss.org for the national nonprofit support group.
Until recently, some of my time is taken up with my duties as NM State Chapter Coordinator for the Hearing Loss Association of America and chair of the Loop New Mexico Committee - the latter a group promoting awareness and use of this form of technology to improve communication access for those with hearing loss. I also serve on the joint national Hearing Loss Association of America/American Academy of Audiology "Get In the Hearing Loop" task force and on the licensing board for hearing care providers in New Mexico.
In my writing I have been published in most of the major hearing care periodicals and such others as Sound and Communications and Technologies for worship. I have presented workshops on hearing loss and on hearing loop technology at several HLAA and other national conventions and to various groups in person or, more recently via zoom
Best regards, to anyone who has gotten to this point.......................
