Jeanne Boyle (Oldweiler) - Class Of 1955

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Jeanne Boyle Oldweiler passed away surrounded by family on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, in Columbia. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at St. Thomas More Newman Center with visitation in the church gathering space at 9 a.m., followed by funeral mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Columbia Cemetery. Jeanne was born in Stratton, Neb., to Patrick and Winifred Kennedy Boyle and graduated from McCook Senior High School in McCook, Neb. She graduated from Northern Colorado University. She was married to her husband, Harry E. Oldweiler, for 58 years. They moved to Columbia in 1968. When their four children were younger, she taught quilting and needlepoint classes in Columbia. When the last child started school, she became a real estate broker with Re/Max Boone Realty, where she found her niche and sincerely loved helping buyers and sellers. As a realtor, she received many accolades, including Salesperson of the Year, Realtor of the Year, and Woman of the Year, awarded by the Women’s Council of Realtors. At the state level, she was also Realtor-Salesperson of the Year, President of Missouri State Women’s Council of Realtors, and Woman of the Year as awarded by Missouri Women’s Council. On the national level, she was a national officer of governor in Missouri Women’s Council. They took summer vacations with their children and before and after retirement, she and Harry traveled extensively to all 50 states and to five continents. They spent many winters in Santiago, Mexico and Green Valley, Arizona. In retirement, she authored three books, read extensively, played bridge and was an active member of The Writer’s Square. She will leave a huge hole in this world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Winifred Boyle; brother, Daniel Boyle; and sister, Catherine Boyle VanArsdale. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; three strong Irish sisters, Mary Ann Boyle Boncelet of North Brunswick, N.J., Barbara Boyle Stroup (Harold) of Denver, Colo., and Patricia Boyle Browne (John) of Denver; one brother-in-law, James VanArsdale of Graysville, Ill.; and four children and nine grandchildren who will miss her very much: Tom Oldweiler (Laura), Alex and Madeline of Mobile, Ala., and Patrick of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Jennifer Oldweiler Hill (David), Nathan, and Daniel of Prairie Village, Kan., and Michael of Chicago, Ill.; Andrew Oldweiler (Cheryl) of Houston, Texas; and Elizabeth Oldweiler Turk (Stephen), Caroline, Patrick and Catherine of San Mateo, Calif.
