Wilma Berndt (Kaeding) - Class Of 1954

ASHLAND – Wilma E. Kaeding, 80, of Ashland passed away Dec. 28, 2016, at the Tabitha Nursing Home in Lincoln. She was born April 18, 1936 on the same farm her father was born six miles outside of Herndon, Kan. to Theodore and Eva (Muirhead) Berndt.

She graduated from McCook High School on May 25, 1954. Wilma was united in marriage to Dale E. Kaeding on April 18, 1954 in McCook, to this union six children were born. She was a member of American Legion Post 129 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her mother, Eva (Berndt) Naatus; children and spouses, Sandra (Tom) Mann of Lincoln, Dale Kaeding Jr. of Omaha, Barbara Steggall of Lincoln, Brenda (Richard) Kroeger of Waterloo, Glenda (Jim) Davis of Elmwood; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, Chad, Amy, Rebbeca, Amanda, Emily and David; 16 great-grandchildren, Allana, Zane, Jurzy, Nolyn, Savannah, Isabelle, Joshua, Taylor, Isiah, Kobe, Jordon, Choloe, Haylee, Mariyah, Glory and Americus; six sisters, Darlene, Dixie, Teresa, Joyce, Tialatha and Mary; four brothers, Lawrence, Donnel, Terry and William; many aunts, uncles cousins other relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Kaeding; infant son, Gerald Kaeding; father, Theodore Berndt; brother, Theodore “Bob” Berndt.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Marcy Chapel in Ashland. Pastor Steven Lindley will be officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marcy Chapel, Ashland.

She will be interred at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to American Legion Post 129.
