Richard Beideck - Class Of 1950

(July 16, 1931 - May 12, 2005)
Richard "Dick" Beideck, 73, died Thursday (May 12, 2005), at Bryan LGH-East in Lincoln.

On July 16, 1931, he was born in McCook, the son of Jacob and Marie Katherine (Brehm) Beideck. He graduated from McCook High School in 1950.




He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 - 1954, and then took employment with Burlington Northern Railroad as a Conductor/Brakeman until he retired in 1992.
He married Joyce Foth of Ord, on June 24, 1956. To this union there were three children born.

He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, the Elks Club, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He will be remembered as a man who enjoyed being with people, especially his family and grandchildren. His special interests were hunting, fishing, gardening, puttering in his garage, and going to coffee with the gang.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughter, Jennifer and son-in-law, Paul Sline of Plano, Texas; two sons, John Beideck and daughter-in-law, Gay of Kearney and Jeff Beideck, of Omaha; one brother, Jerry Beideck and wife, Jean of McCook; five grandchildren, Jessica, Katherine, and Abigail Sline, and Chase and Blake Beideck; nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Internment will be at a later date.
