Richard Trainer - Class Of 1949 VIEW PROFILE

Richard "Dick" Calvin Trainer, 87, of Longmont died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home. He was born May 9, 1930 to Charles and May Trainer in Bartley, Nebraska. He grew up in McCook, Nebraska. He married his wife Carolyn, the love of his life, December 26, 1950. He served in the Air Force from 1950-1954; while stationed in Newfoundland, Canada his first daughter Debra was born in 1953. They then moved to Boulder where three more daughters were born. In 1956 they moved to Sugar Loaf for ten years. In 1966 they moved back to Boulder and bought the Arapahoe Lodge, and built it into a very successful business, before selling it in 1999. Dick was a man of many talents. He was a general contractor and fine craftsman. Dick also owned Longreach excavating. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn; and two grandsons Rick and Eric. Dick is survived by his four daughters Debe, Kari, Lisa and Stephanie; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorial service 1:30 PM Thursday September 28, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Labre Indian School in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
