Ardis Mae Ruppert passed away Monday February 26, 2018 at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord, Nebraska. She was born March 3, 1932 in a sod house in Frontier County Nebraska to Wayne and Fern Wolgamott. She was united in marriage to Dale E Ruppert on December 26, 1948 in McCook, Nebraska.


The couple lived in McCook and moved to Falls City where Dale drove truck for Herman Brothers Transport until becoming a member of the Falls City Police Department. After Dale became a member of the Nebraska State Patrol they were stationed in Fremont, Lyons and Oakland. After Dale’s death in 1980, Ardis moved to Curtis, Nebraska. She worked for Cambell’s Soup Company, worked as a waitress and later as a veterinary assistant. When she moved to Curtis Ardis worked at a commercial greenhouse, as a dorm mother at the Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture and at the Curtis senior center.


Ardis was a loyal member of the Rebekahs serving in all offices including President of the Assembly of Nebraska. She also served the Curtis community for many years as an EMT on the rescue squad.


She loved spending time with family on any occasion but especially on holidays, camping trips and birthdays. These occasions would not be complete without a rousing game of pinochle, cribbage, pitch or yahtzee.


Ardis is survived by sons Wayne (Rusty) and Teresa Ruppert of Taylor, Ne, Colin (Lucky) and Debbie Ruppert of Papillion, Ne, Shawn (Buzz) Ruppert and Linda of Lincoln, Ne. Daughter Sheryl (Chickie) and Dwayne Bruinswick of McCook, Ne. Sister Phyllis Ogg of McCook, Ne and brother Roy and Carolyn Wolgamott of Lincoln, Ne., 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.


She was proceeded in death by her parents (Wayne and Fern), husband (Dale), sister Norma Jean Yeager, brother-in-law Harold Yeager, brother Ray Wolgamott, mother-in-law Ina Taylor and father-in-law Lial Taylor.

Funeral service will be at the First Methodist Church in Curtis on March 3 at 10:00 am. with internment to follow at the Curtis Cemetery with a Rebekah Lodge Rites Ceremony. Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
