Bonnell Lee (Gallatin) Carfield

Aug. 6, 1929 - March 29, 2017

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Bonnell Lee (Gallatin) Carfield passed away March 29, 2017, in Broomfield, Colo. She was 87.

Bonnie was born to John and Helen Gallatin on Aug. 6, 1929. She graduated from McCook High School in May 1947 and then went on to McCook Junior College and graduated in May 1949.

She married Waldo Carfield on Aug. 21, 1949. To this union four children were born. Bonnie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.

Waldo was stationed at the Navel air base in Hastings during the 1950s and later transferred to Lowry Air base in Denver, where he retired in the 1970s. They retired and traveled during their retirement years. He preceded her in death the fall of 2008.

Bonnie lived with her daughter and they traveled to Old Mexico and Florida during the cold winters, otherwise she loved the mountains and Colorado weather.

Her children are Wally Carfield of Denver, Colo., Nancy Anderson of Broomfield, Colo., Peggy Helmsey, also of Broomfield, and Patti King of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Teresa and Bryan Carfield and their families; great- grandchildren, cousins and relatives; sisters, Jackie (deceased) and Sandra Gallatin of McCook; brother and his wife, Dwight and Susanna Gallatin; niece, Robin and Harry Marks and daughter, Alexia and family.

A private service will be at a later date.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook is in charge of arrangements.
