DELTA, Colo. -- Mabel "Jeane" Ruby, 88, formerly of Limon, Colorado, died Dec. 10, 2015, at Delta.

She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in McCook, Nebraska, to Ora Austin and Lillian Ethel (Mills) Clopton. She grew up in McCook and north Denver. She graduated from McCook High School in 1945.

She married Donald Ruby of Oxford, Nebraska, on April 1, 1947. She worked as a telephone operator. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Limon, Order of the Eastern Star, and Red Hats.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two older siblings, Bob Clopton and Betty Clopton Young

Survivors include children, Jeri Ruby of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Gary (Barb) Ruby of Castle Rock, Colorado, Pat (Randy) Sunderland of Delta, Colorado, and Ric (Maria) Ruby of Elkhorn, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, with the eighth due in February.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be at a later date. Memorials may be given in her name to Hope Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, c/o Yvonne Read, P.O. Box 94, Bennett, CO 80102; or HopeWest Hospice, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416.
