DENVER, Colorado -- Beverly Schilz, 84, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on April 1, 2012, peacefully at The Denver Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beverly was born in Otis, Colorado on Nov. 13, 1927, the daughter of Lonnie and Mary Casper. As an infant the Casper family moved to McCook, Nebraska, where Beverly grew up and graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1945.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Delbert (Del) Schilz; brother, Perky; four children, Lonnie (Pam), Brenda (Marvin), Mike and Wes; six grandchildren, Levi (Cathy), Felicia, Bobby (Suree), Zach, Josh (Dee) and Jeramy; four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Harper and Karley; and many friends made during their years traveling.

Beverly and Del moved to Denver in 1961, where she worked as an operator for AT&T, retiring in 1990. She supported the AT&T Pioneers including working as an ambassador for the opening at DIA. She loved gardening, traveling, genealogy and doting on the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Denver Hospice, 8299 E. Lowry Blvd. Denver, CO 80230.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4 at 1 p.m. at DeWitt & Tabler Funeral Home, 12114 Grant Circle Thornton, Colorado, 80241.

Graveside services to be held Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m., at the Riverview Cemetery in McCook, Nebraska.
