Doris Adams (Bobier) - Class Of 1937

Doris Stella Bobier, age 97, of Gibraltar, passed away peacefully under the care of Great Lakes Hospice on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Applewood Nursing Center in Woodhaven, Michigan.

Born on September 11, 1920 in McCook, Nebraska, she was the daughter of John and Eurilla (Fitch) Adams. She met Jesse Bobier at the Army Airforce base in CA and they were later married in Fresno. He preceded her in death in 1983. She later met Chuck Belknap at the Gibraltar Community Center and he became her partner until he passed in 2005.

Doris was a member of The Gibraltar Senior Citizens and enjoyed the aerobics class for 30 years. She also participated in the Senior Olympics track and field, her events were the shot put, discus throw and javelin. She was a Girl Scout leader, enjoyed camping, outdoor activities, square dancing and line dancing. In her free time she loved to sew, needle craft, read, spend time with her friends, and watch the mallard ducks on the canal in Gibraltar where she lived.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Surviving are daughter, Margaret Bobier (Chester) of Flat Rock, grandchildren, Susan (Brian) Callaghan and Jerry (Allegra)Wilkerson, and 5 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Addie, Kelly, Wylder and Priya.
