Velma Roberts Obituary

Velma Alene Roberts Passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20, 2009. Velma was a devoted wife to Edward George Roberts for more than sixty years until his passing in 2005. She was a loving mother to Grace Ann Roberts, who was here for fourteen wonderful years before they lost her to Muscular Dystrophy. She is survived by nieces Ann Doyle, Sandra Gotchall, and Shirley Hart, grand nephew Jason Gotchall, and close friends Corinne Geppert and Bonnie Coleman. Those who knew and loved her agree that she was an interesting woman with an amazing memory who could tell stories about the past with great clarity, or talk about current events with enthusiasm. She was also a great listener, who made friends very easily. She maintained a positive outlook and easygoing nature even in the face of adversity. She inspired many to look at the bright side, as she did. She called many people her 'children' and they called her 'mom'. She was many things: a talented photographer, nature lover, avid bird watcher, with a real zest for life. Velma will be remembered and missed, for she was truly a beautiful person who walked upon this earth for 90 wonderful years and touched our hearts. We love you Velma!
